SBI Associate PO Exam Eligibility Criteria

SBI Associate PO Eligibility Criteria 2016 – State Bank of India will be releasing the vacancies for the post of Probationary officers in the associate banks shortly. There are six associate banks for which the vacancies will be brought out. For successful application, the candidates must keep in mind all the related things in mind and certainly the SBI Associate PO Eligibility Criteria 2016 is one amongst the various important things to keep in mind.

Names of Associate Banks of SBI
Following are the names of banks for which the SBI will be conducting the recruitment for the Post of Probationary officers and Management Trainee:

  • State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur (SBBJ)
  • State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH)
  • State Bank of Mysore (SBM)
  • State Bank of Patiala (SBP)
  • State Bank of Travancore (SBT)

Details of the SBI Associate PO Eligibility Criteria 2016
As per the SBI Associate PO Eligibility criteria 2016, the candidates must be clear in the following criterion:
1. Nationality/citizenship:The candidate who wants to fill the Application form must be
  • An Indian Citizen
  • A citizen of Nepal
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962
  • Indian Subjected who migrated from any country with an intention of settling permanently in India can apply.

  • 2. Educational Qualification:
  • The candidates must have a degree of graduation in any stream from a recognized University by UGC.
  • The candidates must also possess the certificates which they would require to produce at the time of Invigilation.

3. Age Qualification: The candidates must be aged between 20 years to 28 years of age as on 01 December 2016. As per the reservation policy and age relaxation policy of the Government of India, the candidates from the reserved category are liable to get age relaxation by following years:

Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes 05 years
Other Backward Category (OBC) 03 years
Physically Handicapped (General) 10 years
PH (OBC) 13 years
PH (SC/ST) 15 years
The people who resided in the Kashmir region of J& K during the time 01 January 1980 to 31 December 1989 05 years
Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen Actual period of Service rendered in Defense Services+3 Years/ 8 Years(Disabled SC/ST Servicemen, subjected to a maximum age of 50 Years)
Widows, divorced and the women separated judicially 09 years

Application fee:
The candidates who want to fill the SBI Associate Bank PO Application fee will have to pay Rs.600 as the application fee either through the net banking, credit card, and debit card or through the SBI Challan. The challan can be obtained after the completion of 1st part of the Application form. For the candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/PH), the Application fee is Rs.100.

SBI Associate PO Exam Pattern

SBI Associate Banks Probationary officer (PO) exam consists of 2 sections namely:

  • Objective type paper-I – 200 Marks
  • Descriptive type Paper-II – 50 marks

SBI Associate PO Exam Syllabus

Syllabus includes of the following section:
  • Reasoning (HIGH LEVEL)
  • Data Interpretation
  • English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc)
  • General Awareness + Computer + Marketing Awareness

The above mentioned sections are from the Objective paper of the Exam whereas; the Descriptive paper also includes the English Language.

SBI Associate PO Selection Procedure

State Bank of India (SBI) has invited applications for filling up job vacancies at the post of Probationary Officers (PO) in several associate banks across the nation. The final selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performances in Phase I and Phase II. Candidates will have to qualify both the phases, separately.

Marks secured by the candidates in the written test (out of 250 marks) will be converted and considered out of 75 and marks secured in group discussion and interview (out of 50 marks) will be converted and considered out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of written test and group discussion and the interview out of 100 for each category. The final selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

Phase I consisting of a descriptive and objective test has been completed, the results for the same have also been announced. Phase II consisting of a GD and interview has begun on February 16 and is in continuation. The candidates appearing for Phase II should carry their admit cards along with them.
