SBI Associate Clerk Eligibility Criteria
As per the SBI Associate Clerk Eligibility criteria 2016, the candidates must be clear in the following criterions –

1. Nationality/citizenship
The candidate who wants to fill the Application form must be

  • An Indian Citizen
  • A citizen of Nepal
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962
  • Indian Subjected who migrated from any country with an intention of settling permanently in India can apply.

  • 2. Educational Qualification
  • The candidates must have a degree of graduation in any stream from a recognized University by UGC.
  • The candidates must also possess the certificates which they would require to produce at the time of Invigilation.

3. Age Qualification
The candidates must be aged between 20 years to 28 years of age as on 01 December 2016.
As per the reservation policy and age relaxation policy of the Government of India, the candidates from the reserved category are liable to get age relaxation by following years –

Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes 05 years
Other Backward Category (OBC) 03 years
Physically Handicapped (General) 10 years
PH (OBC) 13 years
PH (SC/ST) 15 years
The people who resided in the Kashmir region of J& K during the time 01 January 1980 to 31 December 1989 05 years
Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen Actual period of Service rendered in Defense Services+3 Years/ 8 Years(Disabled SC/ST Servicemen, subjected to a maximum age of 50 Years)
Widows, divorced and the women separated judicially 09 years

SBI Associate Clerk Exam Pattern

SBI Associate Clerk Exam Pattern 2016 – State bank of India is the biggest national bank of the country with a maximum of government holding. It is also one of the largest employers of the country with a huge number of work forces. Apart from the main SBI, it has also a number of Associate Banks named after cities or states of the country which also constitutes for a large number of branches. Every year SBI conducts the examination for the SBI Associate Clerk Exam and sees a huge number of participation from the candidates who aspire to become successful bankers in their life.

The candidates should note that the SBI Clerk Exam 2016 will be conducted online in online mode and the candidates will have to mark their response using mouse only. There are five sections as per the SBI Clerk Exam 2016 exam pattern which is as follows:

SBI Associate Clerk Selection Procedure

SBI Associate Clerk Selection Procedure 2016 – The clerical cadre examination for the Associate banks is conducted by the State Bank of India. The bank is all set to release a proposed vacancy of around 3000 in this fiscal year. The bank aims to induct able qualified candidates to administer its five associate banks spread all over the country. The basic management of these banks is under the SBI and hence the amenities gained by the employees are much similar to that of the SBI. The aspiring candidates for the associate bank clerk must check the SBI Associate Clerk Selection procedure 2016 in order to understand the technicalities involved in the selection procedure.

Details of the SBI Associate Clerk Selection Procedure 2016
As we already know, the SBI Associate Clerk 2016 selection in the associate banks is conducted by SBI following two stages which are as follows:

  • Written examination (Objective and Descriptive)
  • Personal Interview

The candidates will first have to appear in the written examination as per the SBI Associate Clerk Selection procedure 2016 and the candidates qualifying in the written examination under a stable cutoff would then be asked to appear in the Personality Test at the venue decided by SBI.

SBI Associate Clerk Selection Procedure 2016 – written exam
The written examination is the basic or the first step towards the selection process and should not be taken lightly. The fact that there are two stages as compared to three in IBPS and SBI PO and Clerk clearly tells the importance of the written examination. The written examination also has two papers which are objective and descriptive in nature. The details of these are as follows:
  • An objective Paper of 200 marks
  • A descriptive Paper of 50 marks

As per the SBI Associate Clerk Selection procedure 2016, the objective paper contains questions from four sections namely the English Language, Data Interpretation, reasoning and General Awareness with special focus on banking and market awareness.

The descriptive paper on the other hand would be more specific on testing the English writing and reading skills of the candidates with questions like the Précis writing, essay writing, paragraph writing and comprehension. The selection would be made by adding the marks obtained in both the papers and hence the importance of any of the papers cannot be undermined.

SBI Associate Clerk Selection Procedure 2016 – Interview
The candidates qualifying in the written examination would then be called to appear in the personality test where the candidates would be screened based on the vocal and other skills. The personality test is important keeping in pace with the growing market industries of the country.

The final result of the associate bank recruitment would be made by totaling the marks obtained by the candidates in the written exam and the Interview exam. The appointment would be made keeping in mind the final result.
